ISAAC FLORENTINE

Isaac Florentine is an Israeli-born film director, screenwriter, and producer best known for his work in martial arts and action cinema.

After moving to the United States in 1988, Florentine began working in television as a stunt coordinator and second unit director — notably on Power Rangers — before directing his first feature Desert Kickboxer (1992). He became widely known in the 2000s for directing genre favorites such as Undisputed II: Last Man Standing (2006), Undisputed III: Redemption (2010) — which earned him a Best Director award at ActionFest — Ninja (2009), Ninja: Shadow of a Tear (2013), and Close Range (2015).

Florentine’s films are admired for their tight, dynamic fight choreography and clear visual style, blending his martial arts background with efficient action storytelling. Although he has not received major mainstream festival prizes, his work has been celebrated within the action and martial arts film community and has had significant influence on contemporary genre filmmaking.
